Handler Training
Homeland Canine offers a 10-week basic course in explosive or narcotics canine handling. The course is available for either in-residence training at Homeland Canine facility, or training on location. An on-site training mission is also provided after graduation.
Handler Supervisor Course
Homeland Canine offers a 4-week course in handler supervision either at an Homeland Canine facility or on location. Canines can be custom-trained to meet agency needs and are specialized as single-purpose, explosive detection certified.
Canine Certification
Homeland certifies non-Homeland canines to meet NTPDA proficiency certification and evaluation standards, and will evaluate the agency’s canine program to determine the certification level, in addition to the required proficiency training needed to certify the canines to NTPDA evaluation standards.
Annual On-Site Certification
Homeland Canine will provide annual on-site certification in accordance with NTPDA proficiency certification standards and evaluation standards. If a team does not meet the criteria of the certification, a re-evaluation will be conducted within 60 to 100 days of the initial assessment.
